The CBP Blockchain Update, Presented by Twila Riffel and Jeff Saum

May 16, 2022

Twila Riffel and Jeff Saum recently spoke at the 2022 American Petroleum Institute’s International Trade and Customs Conference, the only annual conference focused on US Customs issues for the oil and gas industry. This conference brings together the industry’s Customs representatives to discuss all the latest updates affecting the import and export of oil and gas.

The team originally presented the Neoflow concept at the API’s virtual conference in October, 2021 providing details of how US Customs and Border Protection is teaming together with Neoflow to develop a new reporting structure for the industry to enhance visibility and security to CBP while enabling the long sought after duty free status of Canadian crude and natural gas for the industry.

Their presentation in March to the audience in Houston focused on how Neoflow fits into CBP’s future state of automation as well as addressed commonly asked industry questions on uniformity and standardized procedures, data security and CBP’s commitment to allow duty free preference on imports.

Further discussions with the industry will focus on more detailed information on data security.
